The theme for the ChildX Award 2024 is released

We are releasing our theme for the ChildX Award 2024! The theme focuses on methods to identify child victims of trafficking.

The methods of trafficking and smuggling are becoming more sophisticated, but identification methods are lagging behind. Outdated indicators, a lack of communication across borders and an inability to capture crimes that take place online have led to a huge number of unreported child victims. Fewer than 1 in 500 victims of trafficking are identified, and child victims of sexual exploitation in particular risk being missed in outreach efforts. Globally, 27% of victims are children, and two-thirds are girls.

We are now looking for the most effective methods and approaches to improve the identification of child victims of trafficking and sexual abuse. This may include the development of more effective indicators, more child-friendly approaches, systematic training of rescue workers or other methods of systemic change. We now invite you to nominate your candidate(s) for the ChildX Award 2024! The deadline for nominations is October 15. All nominees will be reviewed by a selection committee.
