Thank you for a year of change – Together!
This year has been intense yet hopeful and full of progress. As we now close the door on the past year, we want to extend our heartfelt thanks to you. Your commitment, your voices, and your support have been crucial to the transformative power we have created together!
We started the year with a royal visit and continued by educating media on ethical reporting. Another investigation showed that the consent law is effective, and we launched our methodological material Identify Multiple.
We gathered strength and inspiration through philanthropic events – including one at Soho House with Lisa Nilsson – and launched our 25 fantastic ambassadors. The fact that so many of us are driving change together makes us both proud and happy.
Throughout the year, we have had many meetings with ministers, and we have seen concrete results:
legislation has been strengthened, remote sex purchases have become illegal, and protection for 15–17-year-olds has improved.

We released our annual Sifo survey, won several awards – including the Butterfly Award – and highlighted grooming in online gaming through the campaign Unusual Suspects and the Grooming Generator.
Swedish Radio investigated, the Minister for Gender Equality called a meeting, and we were clear: the responsibility should lie with the platforms, not with the children.
A national survey showed that 9 out of 10 Swedes agree.
We launched the Safe Survivor Action Hub globally. We entered two new projects – together with Fryshuset via the Swedish Gender Equality Agency and with the Swedish Equestrian Federation via the Swedish Inheritance Fund.
We also presented our new graphic identity (and yes, incredible merch is now available!).

We handed over 20,000 signatures from our appeal against s*x dolls to Minister of Justice Gunnar Strömmer. And since the autumn break, we have been working around the clock to shut down sites that enable, market, and normalize child abuse.
Now we are so close: Parliament is behind us, and early next year the police will be tasked with shutting down the sites.
This would never have been possible without you. Thank you for standing with us, and for all the change you have made possible in 2025. We look forward to what we will achieve together next year.
Happy New Year from the ChildX team
Children’s online protection is under threat
What has happened? The temporary ePrivacy derogation from 2021 allows services to voluntarily detect and report child sexual abuse material. The derogation expires on April 3, 2026, unless it is extended. The European Commission proposed an extension, but the European Parliament wants to limit the

Sweden is falling behind – children are paying the price
Children are subjected to sexual abuse in digital environments daily. Artificial intelligence (AI) must be used to put a stop to this. The government has recently presented a new national strategy for AI with the ambition for Sweden to become a world leader in AI.

Government tasks police with blocking digital brothels
Since 2020, the children's rights organization ChildX, together with Realstars, has been working to stop so-called digital brothels—websites that enable and normalize the sexual exploitation of children and young people online. The government has now tasked the police with blocking all digital broth
