Child10 changes its name to ChildX

Today, the children’s rights organization Child10 changes its name to ChildX. With the new name, ChildX wants to reflect the foundation’s main mission, which is to stop paid sexual abuse of children.

– Children’s bodies should not be for sale! But in every class of grade nine and in high school, there is the equivalent of 1-2 children who have been subjected to paid sexual abuse. With our new name, we are even clearer about our mission and that we as a society must stop these abuses,” says Ida Ă–stensson, Secretary General of ChildX.

Established in 2014, the ChildX Foundation works against human trafficking and other forms of commercial sexual exploitation of children, also known as paid child sexual abuse. In addition to symbolizing the foundation’s main mission, the X also stands for the need to identify more of the children who are being exploited – today fewer than 1 in 300 children are identified.

– These children are today completely invisible. And if, against all odds, some of these vulnerable children become visible to the adult world, they are not treated as the victims they are but are blamed instead of receiving some form of compensation. Exploitation is violence and there is only one person to blame – the perpetrator,” says Ida Ă–stensson.

In connection with the name change, the ChildX logo and a Swedish version of the website are also launched. The new logo and website have been developed by the content agency Glory Days.
