Margaux Flavet: “It feels deeply meaningful to be a small part of something that makes a big difference.”
She’s the artist who, in no time, has captured the hearts of thousands of young people with her voice and presence. For 16-year-old Margaux Flavet, music is a sanctuary — a way to express herself and reach others who might feel alone or vulnerable.
Now, she’s stepping in as an ambassador for ChildX. Not as an expert, but as a fellow human being — with a desire to spread knowledge, hope and safety to other young people. For Margaux, it’s about one thing: no one should have to feel alone.
What’s the best part of being part of an organization like ChildX?
It feels truly meaningful to be even a small part of something that creates real change. I’m not an expert in everything ChildX does, but I care deeply about children’s well-being and safety. Being able to help spread information that might make someone feel less alone — or even help them find the courage to seek support — feels important. If I can use my voice and platform to contribute, I want to do that.
How can culture and music make a difference?
Music has always been my safe space — a place where I can be exactly who I am. It’s a way to express yourself, understand yourself, and reach others, without having to put everything into words. When I share a song or a clip on social media, people often write to say they relate, or that it helped them in some way. That’s powerful. Music builds bridges between people who might not otherwise connect. And I think the world needs more of those bridges.
Working with children’s vulnerability can be mentally challenging. What are your best tips for recharging?
For me, music is one of my biggest sources of energy. When I sing, I get to land in myself — like everything else fades away for a moment. I can also let out emotions that are hard to put into words. It’s like recharging my batteries, both mentally and emotionally. I also dance at home to shake off stress, and I spend time with my family and my sisters. That helps me feel safe and happy.
