ChildX and Protect Children strengthen their collaboration

ChildX and the Finnish organization Protect Children have been working together since 2022, when Protect Children became one of ten ChildX Awarded Members. Now we are further strengthening the collaboration to better protect children from online sexual abuse.

Protect Children is a non-profit organization based in Finland, working internationally to end all forms of sexual violence against children. Protect Children uses a holistic, research-based approach to prevent child victimization and to provide support to victims and families affected by childhood sexual exploitation and abuse.

In 2024, ChildX and Protect Children have now resumed their collaboration, focusing on strengthening the voice of victims and survivors of child sexual exploitation and abuse. ChildX is helping Protect Children to disseminate the global #OurVoice survey. The survey, supported by the Justice Initiative, targets people over the age of 18 who have experienced childhood sexual violence and is translated into 23 languages.

The joint efforts of Protect Children and ChildX also aim to address the lack of adequate laws in Europe when it comes to online sexual exploitation and abuse of children. By working together, we aim not only to combat the immediate threats posed by child trafficking and exploitation, but also to address the underlying causes of this type of sexual violence against children.
