The equivalent of 1-2 children in each class of grade 9 and high school have been victims of paid sexual abuse. To draw attention to the problem and put the crime on the map, ChildX has initiated the AR campaign Brottsplats. <\/b><\/p>\n

– These abuses happen all the time, even in places where we least expect it. Perpetrators may pick up children on their lunch break at school, in shopping malls or on their evening walk. Adults are all too often unaware of this. We need to do more to make these crimes visible and to be there for children and young people who are victims,” says Ida \u00d6stensson, Secretary General of ChildX. <\/em><\/p>\n

Crime Scene uses augmented reality (AR) technology to show in real time how a meeting between a victim and an offender might take place. By scanning a QR code, users can see the encounter integrated into the location they are in. The dialog is based on real encounters between offenders and children. <\/p>\n

– We believe we need to show the reality to make people understand that these crimes are happening right in front of our eyes without us realizing it. <\/em>It’s not someone else’s child or somewhere else it’s happening. It’s here and now,” says Ida \u00d6stensson. <\/em><\/p>\n

The aim of the campaign is to make it clear that paid sexual abuse is a CRIME where the blame lies with the perpetrator, not the child. The background to this is that paid sexual abuse today is not seen as the violent crime it is. <\/p>\n

– In principle, no perpetrators are sentenced to prison for the exploitation of children through the purchase of sexual acts. At the same time, we repeatedly see how children who are victimized are blamed in their encounters with healthcare, the police and the adult world in general. The perception of these crimes must change in order for more children to receive care, support and restoration. The only one who should bear the guilt and shame is the perpetrator,” says Ida \u00d6stensson. <\/em><\/p>\n

\nFacts about the Campaign
\n<\/b>Crime Scene is a campaign against paid sexual abuse of children. Through augmented reality (AR) technology, we show in real time how a meeting between a victim and a perpetrator can take place. Users can access the campaign by scanning a QR code on stickers placed in various central locations and published in print media. The Crime Scene campaign is made by the ChildX Foundation together with the advertising agency Le Bureau. <\/p>\n
