She has long been one of Sweden’s most respected actors, but also a fearless voice for children’s rights, human dignity and solidarity. For Eva R\u00f6se, this commitment runs deep, and it has been borne of both anger and hope. Today, after years of working for children’s rights, her conviction is clear: we can change the world – one person at a time. <\/p>\n

Share a personal story or reflect on someone who has had a strong impact on your involvement.<\/strong>
\nI clearly remember a day at home watching TV about 20 years ago. A report from a disaster somewhere in the world and information about the urgent needs of children. I cried and became despondent, could not bear the images, but realized that I could turn the frustration into action, and became a volunteer right away. <\/p>\n

How has your experience with children (e.g. through family, friends, work) influenced your commitment to children’s rights?<\/strong>
\nI just have it in me. Can’t put my finger on it. <\/p>\n

Reflect on whether being a parent or having children around you has strengthened your commitment or given you new perspectives.<\/strong>
\nOf course, it has become clearer and closer when you are responsible for your own children. When you see yourself in all mothers and know that no one can ever get used to a loss or a crisis. <\/p>\n

Why have you chosen to get involved in stopping the sexual exploitation and trafficking of children?<\/strong>
\nHow can you not? If there is the least I can do, I will do it.
\nI have encountered far too much in my work with UNICEF and the Police Children’s Unit. <\/p>\n

Reflect on why this area is important to you and, if possible, in a way that inspires hope and commitment. It is possible to make a difference. <\/strong>
\nEveryone’s right to safety, freedom and their own body is reason enough to fight for those whose voices are not heard or allowed to be heard.
\nBeing human means showing solidarity with others and using your privileges to make a difference.
\nYears of involvement, on the ground in vulnerable areas and parts of the world, have shown me very clearly that it CAN BE DONE! I am full of hope, strength and conviction that change is possible. Even if we can only help one person, it is worth everything. <\/p>\n

What issues in the field (sexual exploitation of children) concern you most?<\/strong>
\nThat the justice system imposes severe penalties and that the police are given the resources to do their job. At home and in coordination with international efforts. <\/p>\n

Please highlight 1-2 issues that contribute to increased safety, such as law reform, prevention in schools or empowering survivors. <\/strong>
\nI believe in prevention in schools to reduce secrets, shame and stigma. To give children and young people protection and tools. Then I am absolutely in favor of BankID and 18-year limit for explicit accounts. Children must be protected from the extremely harmful effects of pornography. If we want to stop the perpetrators of tomorrow, we must start there. <\/p>\n

What is the best thing about being part of an organization like ChildX?<\/strong>
\nThe power of collective struggle gives hope for life.<\/p>\n

\nThe realization that it is possible to make a difference. My total conviction on this! <\/p>\n

How do we get more people involved in the fight against sexual violence against children?<\/strong>
\nArticles, opinion pieces, events and social media campaigns.<\/p>\n

Working with vulnerable children can be mentally challenging. What are your top tips for re-energizing? <\/strong>
\nFind out about good news. Read material from survivors telling how they were helped. Bathe in light and happy endings. <\/p>\n

Tell us about something that makes you feel good, whether it’s a hobby, a favorite activity or something completely unexpected.<\/strong>
